Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Ishan Kishan continued his outstanding IPL 2026 season with another explosive knock on Friday, powered SRH beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 55 runs in a high-scoring match. The left-hander said his improved shot selection and simple mindset have played a major role in his consistency this season.
Kishan smashed 79 runs off just 46 balls, hitting eight boundaries and three sixes as Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a massive 255/4. In reply, RCB managed 200/4 and fell well short of the target.

After the match, Kishan explained that he is no longer trying to overcomplicate his batting and is focusing more on understanding situations properly.
The Kavya Maran’s SRH wicketkeeper-batter said maturity in T20 cricket is more about selecting the right shots at the right time rather than playing aggressively every ball.
“Just happy about it, taking one match at a time, not making it complicated for myself, just keeping it simple like I spoke earlier before the tournament. It’s just about watching the ball and playing your game,” Kishan told the broadcaster after the match.
“More than maturity, it’s about shot selection. You (should) know when to play which shot, (and) who to target. I’m just trying to take one ball at a time, know the situation, understand the pitch and just play your shots,” he said.

Kishan once again looked extremely confident against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and admitted that he enjoys batting against them.
The left-hander said confidence and fearless cricket have helped him succeed in important matches this season.
“I just take one match at a time, but I don’t know why but I do feel confident when I’m playing against them and (at the) end of the day, fortune favours the brave and I just try to do my thing and it works in my way.”

The 79-run knock also helped Kishan cross the 500-run mark in IPL 2026, making it one of his best seasons in the tournament.
The wicketkeeper-batter praised captain Pat Cummins and the SRH support staff for creating a relaxed environment inside the dressing room.
“Pat (Cummins) coming in, one of the best bowlers, it’s very good to have him. Credit goes to everyone for keeping us in the zone. you just keep it simple, it’s about enjoying in the middle. I need to give the credit to the support staff and Pat Cummins,” he said.
SRH finish league stage strongly before playoffs
Sunrisers Hyderabad ended the league stage on a high and finished third on the IPL 2026 points table after winning their final group-stage game convincingly.
With batters like Ishan Kishan continuing to deliver consistently, SRH will now head into the playoffs with plenty of confidence and momentum.
