The winner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 edition, Sunrisers Hyderabad are known for their balanced team. However, mostly they are praised for their aggressive batting line-up.
The dynamic batting line-up includes some great hard-hitting batters like Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan. However, the team failed to play their best game and present their skills in the IPL 2024 edition. Despite playing good cricket, the team struggled to maintain their form and missed out on the chance to qualify for the playoffs of the tournament.
However, after a sudden loss of form, the team aims to add some great players to the team, who are in good form as well in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2026. Here are the five players SRH might target to include in the squad.
Here are 5 players Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) might target at IPL 2026 auction

Auqib Khan
Jammu & Kashmir fast bowler Auqib Khan could be one of the top players SRH target in the IPL 2026 mini-auction. He has been impressive in domestic cricket, taking 28 wickets in T20 matches and delivering strong performances in the Ranji Trophy. His consistent bowling has caught the attention of selectors. Auqib could be a great replacement for Harshal Patel, as he brings both pace and variation, along with the potential to grow and perform well on the big stage.

Murugan Ashwin
Tamil Nadu leg-spinner Murugan Ashwin could also be a strong addition for SRH. He has experience playing for five different IPL teams and has taken 35 wickets in his IPL career. With Rahul Chahar struggling with form and limited game time in IPL 2025, Ashwin’s experience could be valuable in improving SRH’s spin attack during the middle overs. Partnering with young spinner Harsh Dubey, he can help maintain control and create pressure on the opposition in key moments of the game.

Salman Nizar
Kerala batter Salman Nizar has been performing consistently well in domestic cricket. In T20s, he has scored 450 runs and has shown even stronger performances in other formats. Since Abhinav Manohar struggled in IPL 2025, Nizar could be a dependable option for SRH’s top or middle order. His ability to play steady innings and accelerate when required would bring the stability and balance that Hyderabad’s batting lineup has been missing.

Mayank Agarwal
Mayank Agarwal offers both experience and flexibility to any batting lineup. A seasoned IPL player since 2011, he has scored 2756 runs in 125 innings, including one century and 13 half-centuries. Known for his ability to adapt to different match situations, Agarwal can bat anywhere in the top order. SRH could look to bring him in as a replacement for Ishan Kishan, who struggled to maintain consistency during IPL 2025 despite starting the season well against the Rajasthan Royals.

Atit Sheth
Baroda pacer Atit Sheth is another promising option for SRH. With 89 wickets in 62 domestic matches, he has shown consistency and skill, using pace and swing to trouble batters regularly. At 29, Sheth brings both experience and potential, making him a solid candidate to replace Mohammed Shami, who struggled with form in IPL 2025. With the right coaching and support, SRH could develop Sheth into one of their key strike bowlers for the upcoming season.
