Gujarat Titans (GT) received a massive boost in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 campaign, as they defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru at their home ground. GT’s most expensive pick was Jos Buttler (for Rs 15.75 crore), who stole the show with his batting with an unbeaten half-century.
Jos Buttler slammed 73 runs against RCB , including 5 fours and 6 sixes. He now has 585 runs against the Rajat Patidar-led side in IPL. He has secured this number while averaging at 53.18. This has made him first player in the history of the tournament to score 500 runs against the Bengaluru-based franchise while averaging over 50.
Only two players have achieved this feat in IPL history against a single franchise. Chris Gayle has scored 797 runs against Punjab Kings while averaging at 53.13. Apart from that, AB de Villiers has 575 runs against Delhi Capitals while averaging at 57.5.
Coming to the match Gujarat Titans had won the toss and opted to bowl first. They got a superb start as the bowlers ate through the top-order RCB batting order. The team had lost their first 4 wickets in the 7 overs.
After that, RCB made a comeback and pulled themselves and managed to score 169/8 by the end of their innings. Mohammed Siraj was he star of the show, as he picked up 3 wickets for 19 runs.
GT never seemed to face any sort of trouble in their run chase. They completed their target with 13 balls remaining and 8 wickets to spare. Jos Buttler was the top-scorer with 73 runs, while Sai Sudarshan missed out on a half-century as he scored 49 runs.
