The star Indian player who is in most of the talks nowadays for his exclusion from the Asia Cup squad. Shreyas Iyer is known for his great performances and courage while playing. On the other hand, he was also named in the list of the best captains in the Indian Premier League.

His great captaincy and performance helped Punjab Kings to reach the finals of the Indian Premier League. On the other hand, his presence in the Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders gave them a great push and even KKR won the IPL title.

In an interview with GQ, Shreyas Iyer revealed the biggest fact that forced him to not continue with Knight Riders and opt himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction.

‘‘I offer a lot as a captain and player. If I get respect, anything can be accomplished,” says Iyer. “This is what happened at Punjab. They gave me all the support I needed, whether it was the coaches, management or players. I was coming off a high, having just helped India win the Champions Trophy” he said.

”So all the stakeholders at Punjab Kings were eager to hear from me and have me contribute meaningfully. This allowed me to be decisive both on and off the field. I was in every meeting with the management and coaches, contributing strategically. This is something I love!” he added.

Shreyas Iyer spoke about his decision to leave Kolkata Knight Riders, where he also held the captain’s role like he does at Punjab Kings. The senior batter revealed that he did not feel fully involved in the setup at KKR, unlike at Punjab, where he feels much more included and part of the team. “I was part of the conversation, but wasn’t completely in the mix. I’ve had to work my way up to get to the position I am in now,” Iyer revealed.
