Apollo Tyres has been locked in as the new jersey sponsor for the Indian cricket team following the exit of online game platform Dream 11, a senior BCCI official told PTI on Tuesday.

The BCCI was left without a shirt sponsor for the team after the government banned real money gaming platforms including Dream 11 under a new legislation.

The team is currently playing the Asia Cup in Dubai without a title sponsor. “The deal has been signed with Apollo Tyres. We will announce it soon,” said a senior BCCI official.

Apollo Tyres will pay ₹4.5 crore per match to the BCCI, surpassing Dream11’s previous sponsorship rate of ₹4 crore per game. This high-profile partnership is expected to provide the tyre manufacturer with significant global exposure, thanks to India’s packed international cricket schedule. It also stands out as one of the most lucrative sponsorship deals in Indian cricket in recent years.

Apollo Tyres has won the sponsorship rights for the Indian cricket team’s jersey, beating out Canva and JK Cements in a close race. The Gurgaon-based company secured the deal with a massive bid of ₹579 crore, outbidding Canva (₹544 crore) and JK Cements (₹477 crore).

This new sponsorship deal will run for three years and cover a total of 142 matches — including 121 bilateral games and 21 ICC tournaments. On average, the deal amounts to about ₹4.77 crore per match, although the actual amount may vary since ICC matches and bilateral games have different base values. For reference, the BCCI had set the starting price at ₹3.5 crore per bilateral game and ₹1.5 crore per ICC match.
