A candid moment between MS Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir sharing a laugh at a wedding has quickly gone viral on social media. The two World Cup winners were spotted together at the wedding of Utkarsh Sanghvi, brother of Gujarat Minister of State Harsh Sanghvi.

Dhoni arrived at the event with his wife, Sakshi Singh Rawat, dressed smartly in a green blazer and white shirt, while Gambhir, now India’s head coach, wore a grey party shirt. Just days earlier, Gambhir had visited the Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple in Ujjain to offer prayers ahead of India’s Asia Cup campaign.
Despite long-standing speculation on social media about a rift between them, both Dhoni and Gambhir have always maintained a cordial relationship. Gambhir has repeatedly clarified that he shares respect for the former India captain and that the “rift” stories are baseless.

The star-studded ceremony also saw India’s ODI captain Rohit Sharma in attendance, along with former cricketers Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, Tilak Varma, and Parthiv Patel. Irfan, accompanied by his family, was even seen blessing the newlyweds, Utkarsh and Dhvani Kanungo.

Meanwhile, Dhoni has been making the most of his time away from cricket, spending it with family, friends, and indulging in his passion for bikes and cars back home in Ranchi. The 44-year-old last featured in the IPL 2025 season, where he captained Chennai Super Kings in the absence of injured skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad.

As for his future, Dhoni has chosen not to commit yet. He recently said he would take a call on his IPL playing career “after a couple of bike rides in Ranchi.” However, at a promotional event in Chennai, he reassured fans that his bond with CSK would continue for the next 10–15 years, regardless of whether he takes the field or not.

“I have always said there is a lot of time for me to decide, but if you are asking about coming back in a yellow jersey, I will always be in a yellow jersey. Whether I am playing or not is a different matter,” Dhoni said.
“Me and CSK, we are together – even for the next 15–20 years,” he added.
