The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has finally announced their 22 man squad for the big upcoming Asia Cup 2025. The team will face off Pakistan in the upcoming tri-series and the UAE in Sharjah, will travel for the training. However, the squad will select their best 15 players out of 22 for the triseries and the biggest event Asia Cup.

The tri-series will be held on August 29 and the final match will be played on September 7. Afghanistan won’t get any rest before the Asia Cup, they will play their first group stage match on September 9 against Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi.

The ACB has selected Rashid Khan as their captain for the Asia Cup. Rashid handled the team’s responsibility in T20I at December 2024. The Vice-captain of the team will be Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

There will be advantage for Afghanistan as they played most of their matches in the UAE, In the last edition Afghanistan reached in the top 4 position. However, this year they will make sure to win their maiden Trophy.

Afghanistan team evolved themselves with the time and they also beats and showed dominance on great teams, there spin attack will be their strength in the slow pitch surface.
