After rain did not result in an outcome from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC), the much-important clash between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on 6th May at the Wankhede Stadium is also facing a threat of rain.
For those who are not familiar, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has given a yellow alert for Mumbai till Wednesday. This rain that is to come off-season- a month before the Monsoon in the city, has been associated with a very strong Western disturbance.
According to weather.com, the forecast is nothing good for Mumbai as there is a prediction of 41% chance of rain in the city during the time of clash. However, even if the rain stops the match, the delay is not going to be significant as a result is still possible even if a 20-over game is not possible.
Speaking about the clash, it is going to be a big match for both the teams as MI and GT are at third and fourth place respectively in the table with both the teams having 14 points. It is worth noting that Mumbai Indians have played one more match as compared to Gujarat Titans.
If speaking about the SRH vs DC clash, rhe match was abandoned due to relentless rain at the innings break, ending SRH’s playoff hopes, here on Monday.
Both teams received one point each. SRH now have seven points from 11 matches and are out of contention, while DC moved to 13 points from 11 games and sit fifth on the table.
Earlier, Delhi Capitals recovered from a top-order collapse to post 133 for seven after being put in to bat.
Reduced to 29/5 in 7.1 overs following incisive spells from SRH skipper Pat Cummins (3/19) and Jaydev Unadkat (1/13), DC were steadied by Tristan Stubbs (41 not out) and No 8 Ashutosh Sharma, who hit a brisk 41 off 26 balls (2×4, 3×6).
The duo added 66 runs in 45 balls for the seventh wicket to lift the team to a respectable total.
