For his ‘notebook’ celebration against Mumbai Indians, Lucknow Super Giants bowler Digvesh Rathi has been penalized for the second occasion in the ongoing 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL).

Digvesh had previously been fined for this celebration against Punjab Kings opener Priyansh Arya. This time, Rathi has been fined 50% of his match fee as his celebration seems to breach the IPL Code of Conduct.

This was the second instance of Level 1 standard in this season, which resulted in the fine of 50% along with two demerit points being given.

At the same time, captain Rishabh Pant was also penalized for their slow over rate during match against Mumbai Indians. Pant was given a fine of Rs. 12 lakh for this violation.

During the 9th over, Digvesh performed his notebook celebration after getting the wicket of Naman Dhir. He already had a demerit point, but is now also charged with a Level 1 violation.

Although Digvesh taking the wicket of Naman was very important, earning him the Player of the Match award, his discipline issue might bring him close to getting suspended.
