The Indian team members have started to return home following their Champions Trophy triumph in Dubai. While head coach Gautam Gambhir landed in Delhi on Tuesday, skipper Rohit Sharma returned to Mumbai as well.
However, unlike the T20 World Cup where a victory parade and felicitation ceremony was held at the Wankhede Stadium upon the victorious Indian team’s return last year, this time no such ceremony is expected to be held.
This is due to the fact that the 2025 Indian Premier League season is set to begin from March 22 and the players are expected to join their respective camps in a few days. Some of the IPL franchises have already started their camps ahead of the 18th season of the T20 league.
Other players have also left Dubai for different destinations, some of them opting for short vacations ahead of the grueling T20 season as per reports.
Following the Champions Trophy triumph on Sunday, the Indian team decided to disperse separately because there was no elaborate celebration awaiting the team on its arrival home after winning the 2025 Champions Trophy.
