India and New Zealand are all set to face each other in the Champions Trophy 2025 final on March 9. In the entirety of this tournament, a total of 3 matches came out without any result. Fans will therefore have this query in their mind of what will happen if the title deciding clash also gets cancelled.

In case there is no outcome, which team will be declared the winner? Will there be any role of the points table? Who will take the trophy, etc.? are some of the queries which fans might think about. Below we will tell you about an ICC rule regarding the final match getting calnelled.

There is no rain predicted to be in Dubai for March 9. However, if for some reason the match can not be completed on that day, as per ICC rule, the match will then be played on the reserve day (March 9) from the point it got stopped.

Scenario for the final according to the ICC rule:
In case the final clash is not finished on the scheduled day, the match will continue the next day from the point it was stopped.
Every step will be taken to complete the match on the scheduled day, and a number of overs can be reduced if necessary. If minimum 25 overs can not be played, then only reserve day will be used to finish the match.

Match Interruption and extra time:
The rule states that if the match starts after the overs are reduced due to an interruption such as rain but game is still not possible, the match will resume next day from the point where the last ball was bowled (with the consideration of reduced overs).
A maximum of 120 minutes are also allotted as extra time for the match. If the match goes to reserve day, then also 120 minutes are given as extra time.

Super over and tie:
If the final match ends up in a tie (equal scores), a Super Over will be played to declare a winner, and it will keep going until a result is reached.
If a Super Over cannot be held due to weather conditions and there is no result by the end of reserve day, both teams will be declared joint winners.
